A cool new Godzilla figure will light up the night for fans of the King of the Monsters as it features an LED light-up dorsal fin and neck.
The figure announced on the official Godzilla Japan Twitter features the King Kaiju in a dynamic — but stationary — pose. Measuring 50 cm by 25 cm, Godzilla 2000 has an LED light built into its neck and dorsal fin, showcasing the monster’s incredible atomic power. The figure of the beloved Kaiju costs ¥29,150, or roughly $205 at the present conversion rate.
The molded template for the Millennium template was done in 1999 by Yuji Sakai ahead of the production of Godzilla 2000 Millennium. The Millennium template, referred to as “Real Master Collection Godzilla 2000 Millennium Template Replica,” was released last year with a positive response from fans. Following that, Sakai molded and submitted “Original Image Godzilla 2” to Toho staff, which led to the creation of this figure called “Godzilla 2000 Millennium Stationery Model Version.”
LED Lights Showcase Godzilla’s Atomic Power
The soft vinyl-painted figure has gills that extend from the head to its shoulders and a large dorsal fin that stands out prominently. The sculptor’s incredible attention to detail is evident, with features like Godzilla’s feline-like fangs accurately represented. Fans get a clear sense of Godzilla’s fierceness with the figure’s ferocious dynamic combat stance. The built-in LED lights highlight the vivid blue color of Godzilla’s dorsal fin and the reddish color of its gills bubble with atomic power.
Millennium Godzilla isn’t the only eye-catching figure announced recently. Medicom revealed a figure with a skeletal build in celebration of Godzilla’s 68th birthday. Based on the final scene from the 1954 Godzilla film in which the Oxygen Destroyer attacks the titular monster, dissolving away with flesh, the figure exposes half of Godzilla’s skeleton. The figure comes in two colorways: black or gray, with the latter featuring brilliant red blood on the Kaiju’s open wounds. With its unique and eye-catching build, it’s no wonder the figure comes with a Kaiju-sized price tag, costing a cool $1,300 through Bait Online Store.
The figure appears exclusively available to Ric-Toy, available for reservation until Dec. 26, and has an estimated shipment date of June 2023.
