One Piece Film: Red will soon premiere in the United States and Canada, and to get fans hyped, Crunchyroll has dropped an English-dubbed clip.
The video, which is available on YouTube, shows the scene in which most of the Straw Hat Pirates excitedly prepare for Uta’s concert, while in contrast, Luffy focuses on eating meat and Zoro appears generally annoyed by the festivities. The movie will debut in North America on Nov. 4, and tickets are already available for purchase.
The fifteenth movie in the One Piece franchise, Film Red follows the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventures on the Island of Music. There they encountered Red-Haired Shanks’ daughter and Luffy’s childhood friend, Uta, a beautiful songstress who wishes to combat pain and suffering with music. A couple of prologue episodes aired shortly after Film Red’s debut to give viewers insight into the three characters’ connected history.
One Piece Film Red Is a Major Box Office Success
Even though the movie’s theatrical run has predominantly been limited to Japan so far, Film Red has proven itself as a major success and box office juggernaut. It has already earned over 17 billion yen (approximately $122 million), which makes it Japan’s most profitable movie in 2022 at the time of writing. Moreover, Film Red now stands as one of the country’s highest-earning movies of all time, alongside other beloved anime films like Spirited Away, Weathering with You and Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
The release of the English-dubbed clip to promote the North American debut of Film Red is only one example of the myriad of recent One Piece news. Notably, Bandai has announced two new video games dropping early next year. First, there is One Piece Odyssey for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC. According to the description, the game “transports the Straw Hat Crew to a mysterious new island where they embark on quests and fight powerful enemies and massive bosses in exciting turn-based battles.” Second, there is the new line of One Piece-themed Tamagotchis, which allow fans to raise their very own Chopper.
Moreover, VANS and One Piece have partnered to create an apparel line inspired by the iconic series. The collection features shoes, t-shirts, hoodies and more that all feature various pieces of One Piece iconography, and items will go on sale on Nov. 11.
For those who want to catch up on the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventures before the North American debut of Film Red, the anime series is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
