Attack on Titan Brave Order Releases New Character Illustrations

Following the Attack on Titan The Final Season Special Event, new illustrations of Yelena, Onyankopon and Mikasa dropped on social media.

The special event for Attack on Titan took place on Nov. 12, during which the voice actors appeared on stage and acted live scenes from the anime. The singers from the anime’s OST also made an appearance. After the event, new character illustrations from Attack on Titan Brave Order, the Attack on Titan mobile game released in Japan earlier this year on Feb. 11 for iOS and Android, found their way online.

The Illustrations Show the Characters in a New Light

Mikasa’s new illustration highlights her impressive abs as she holds four Thunder Spears in each hand. Yelena sits on a chair with her legs crossed and her arms extended outward. As for Onyankopon, he cuts a cool figure wearing a combo of slacks, a dress shirt and a blazer, with one hand resting on his hip and the other thoughtfully placed on his chin.

Fan reactions to the new illustrations ranged from dubious, with one Twitter user (Xelish06) observing that Attack on Titan takes place in a world that constantly experiences famine. Thus, it would be impossible for Mikasa to maintain a buff figure. “Those are way too unrealistic especially for a world like AoT where they are in constant famines and can’t eat as much as modern day societies. There’s no way she’s getting enough protein to be able to have the energy to exercise enough to build that ripped ?.” Meanwhile, Yelena and Onyankopon fans welcomed the new artwork, with KickMe (miolakot) calling Onyankopon as “Goatyakopon,” implying that he’s the greatest of all time. As for Yelena commentary, Hanges favorite titan (smolweeblet) wrote, “FINALLY CRUMBS FOR YELENA ITS BEEN SO LONG I MISS HER SO MUCH SHES SO CUTE.”

Based on the popular series Attack on Titan, Brave Order tells the story of humanity’s struggle against the invasion of man-eating titans. Initially announced in October 2021, the game went live in February of this year. The new illustrations appear to be a celebratory release in consideration of the anime’s final season, with an event starting in-game beginning Nov. 15. Brave Order’s official Twitter account is hosting a lottery for 55 players, who are eligible to win a 500¥ (roughly $3.60 in the current exchange rate) Amazon gift card.

Released on Feb. 11 in Japan, Attack on Titan Brave Order can be played on iOS and Android.
