Jujutsu Kaisen finally returned after a 2-week long break, and this week’s chapter was certainly very exciting for all the readers. Finally, Maki joined the battle, and the fight against Sukuna was elevated to an entirely new level. At the same time, a lot of interesting information was also revealed by the author in this week’s chapter, which made it extra special.
That said, even after a 2-week break, the author’s art seems to be rather rough, which is a worrying sign for all the fans. It certainly does imply that the author’s health isn’t all that well, and that he’s struggling to finish his story on time. That said, it is certainly commendable that the author still managed to submit this chapter on time, and fans can only be grateful to him for giving them incredibly exciting chapters every week, despite struggling with many health-related issues. Once again, JJK chapter 252 certainly delivered an incredibly exciting dose of combat.
Yuta’s Last Stand Against Sukuna
JJK chapter 252 began with a small flashback. This flashback showed the event before Maki joined the battle and stabbed Sukuna in the previous chapter. As fans know already, towards the end of the last chapter, Yuta’s domain started to break, and Maki decided to join the battle and attack him from behind. She landed a clean blow on him, and this week’s chapter finally gave the fans an answer as to why that was the case. It wasn’t after Yuta was struck by the world-cutting slash that his domain broke. Instead, despite being on the receiving end of the world cutting slash, Yuta did not pass out. He purposely broke his domain, which was the signal for Maki to join the battle. This signal was received by her well, and she was on the top of her game.
In the blink of an eye, Maki decided to join the battle, and she had already stabbed Sukuna by the time Yuta’s body even hit the floor. Yuta certainly did commendable work in this week’s chapter, and for him to manipulate his domain even after being hit by the world-splitting slash is certainly impressive. Immediately, Kusakabe called for Ui Ui to emerge on the battlefield, and he took over the body from Rika and decided to teleport him to Shoko.
Once again, there appears to be a massive hint at Shoko healing all those who fell in battle, and it appears that Yuta is now going to join the list of all the individuals that she has to heal. JJK chapter 252 did not focus much on Yuta, however, the beginning page certainly did elevate him in the eyes of the fans even more, given all the incredible things that he did, on top of being severely injured and on the brink of death.
Maki Vs Sukuna Begins
The vast majority of JJK chapter 252 saw the fight between Maki and Sukuna continue. As fans know already, Maki dealt an incredibly powerful blow to Sukuna in the previous chapter. This blower was aimed directly at his heart, and that meant that his heart would now stop beating. At the same time, it was made clear that Sukuna was having a lot of trouble healing the damage that Maki dealt to him. This was down to the fact that the damage that Maki actually dealt to him was through the Split Soul Katana. This katana harms the soul of the target, if the wielder can actually see the soul themselves.
Given that Maki can do so, it became easy for her to damage Sukuna’s soul. Sukuna realized that he was not able to heal this wound properly, and the narrator made it clear that for soul damage to heal, one needs to be able to see the outline of their very soul. Sukuna himself can do this, however, his battle with Gojo made it so that he could not actually heal his soul properly. That was the reason why his reverse cursed technique was not strong enough to heal the damage that he took from Maki properly, and why he resorted to making his heart beat manually, just like he did when he ripped it out from Yuji’s body long ago.
For now, Sukuna was still able to continue fighting, and he did engage in a heavy action battle against Maki. As expected, Maki was utterly dominant in this fight. Her Heavenly Restriction sees to it that her physical attributes are on a completely different level when compared to most sorcerers in the world of JJK. Despite being incredibly powerful, Sukuna was not able to match her in this regard and Maki clearly had the upper hand in battle. Of course, Sukuna has his cursed technique to aid him, which is something that Maki does not, however, despite his incredible usage of his cursed technique, Maki seems unfazed. Sukuna even launched the world-splitting slash at Maki, but she was able to see his cursed energy and dodge it efficiently. This was something that even Gojo could not do, and now, Maki can do it effortlessly, which was nothing short of staggering.
Yuji Attempts To Heal
JJK chapter 252 also gave the fans a proper glimpse of Yuji. After receiving damage from Sukuna, Yuji looked to rejoin the battle, however, he fell to his knees, coughing blood. This was clearly a sign of him having received a very lethal injury. Yuji knew that some parts of his body had not healed, and given that he was still new to reverse cursed technique, it took him quite some time to figure it out. In the nick of time, Choso arrived and helped him figure out how to spread his blood to every single part of his body, which, once again, hints that you can utilize Blood Manipulation.
Combining that with reverse cursed technique, Yuji can surely heal better than before, and once again, rejoin the battle against Sukuna. It appears that Yuji is now efficiently healing once again, and looking to rejoin the battle, which should happen any moment now. For now, however, the vast majority of the focus remains on Sukuna and Maki.
Hakari Vs Uraume Continues
Fans also got a glimpse of Hakari’s fight against Uraume in JJK chapter 252. While fans did not get to see them engage in combat, they were largely involved just to add more exposition to the fight between Sukuna and the sorcerers. According to Hakari, Sukuna was rather manageable in combat, despite taking to his true form. To that, Uraume mentioned that Sukuna only releases his full power when he is forced to do so. Right now, given that the sorcerers have nothing better than Gojo to offer, Sukuna is still not utilizing his full power. Only when he is pushed to use it will he finally release everything that he has, and with the flames of battle growing, Sukuna is only just getting started.
Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 253, is set to be March 10, 2024.
