One of the Five Elders, Saturn is a major antagonist in One Piece’s Egghead Island arc. Fans were somewhat surprised to see Saturn take up such a central role in this arc, however, he certainly has done that and continues to pose great problems for the likes of Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates.
Given all that Saturn has done to Bonney, Kuma, and Ginny, it is inevitable for him to fall in this arc and fans are hoping to see a proper finale to his inevitable clash against the likes of Luffy and those around him. Despite Saturn being as strong as he is, he will inevitably fall and this is how.
Saturn Vs Kuma
One Piece chapter 1103 ended with Kuma’s arrival on Egghead Island. This is something that has been predicted previously by Game Rant, and it was quite easy to figure out where he was headed. Kuma is attempting to save his daughter from Saturn and that is precisely why he left Kamabaka Kingdom to get to where he is right now. After a grueling journey, Kuma still managed to press forward with intensity and eventually reached Egghead. As soon as he landed on the island, he started blowing the Marines away and rushed towards his daughter. It didn’t take him long to get to Bonney and just as Saturn was about to kill her, he intervened and took the brunt of the attack that was supposed to kill her.
After saving Bonney, Kuma turned his fury towards Saturn and went in with a strong punch. Of course, fans did not get to see Kuma punch Saturn and it will be interesting to see how Oda will handle this fight in the next chapter. One thing is for certain, that Kuma will not be able to defeat Saturn. However, after everything that Kuma has suffered at his hands, fans should expect him to give Saturn a beat down. Saturn will most likely be punched and this will likely cause damage to him. At the same time, Kuma will go in with more furious strikes, however, this battle is not going to last long and will most definitely end in the upcoming chapter of One Piece.
Saturn is way too strong when compared to Kuma, especially when he’s already injured and has been battered to such a degree. As such, Saturn will be the one who will emerge victorious in this fight, however, Saturn versus Kuma will only be a prelude to what’s coming up next and that is the ultimate fight of the Egghead Island arc, Luffy versus Saturn. Fans have been waiting for this fight to begin ever since they found out that Saturn was heading to Egghead and, now, the time for it to unravel is finally here.
Saturn Vs Luffy and Bonney
For Luffy to fight effectively against Saturn, he has to get back to full strength. In the previous chapter, someone started feeding Luffy food and this will help him regain energy. This person is likely Kizaru as he is the only one that Saturn doesn’t suspect and, at the same time, the only person who is fast enough to secure food for him. Of course, the other possibility would be Caribou, however, since he has been largely irrelevant in this arc, fans do not know if he is actually responsible for this or if older simply forgot about him. Regardless, whichever person Oda goes with, the point is that Luffy is eating food and is on his way to recovery already.
It must be noted that Luffy eating food does not mean that he will be back to full strength. He will replenish his stamina, however, the damage inside his body is still going to be there. Oda can handle this in two ways. Either Oda can have Luffy bear the brunt of the damage that he already has and continue fighting, or, Kuma can, perhaps, extract the damage from his body and take it on for himself, helping Luffy in that regard. Regardless of the path Oda takes, Luffy will have his stamina returned to him and he will then jump into the fight against Saturn in full swing.
It must be remembered that Nika is the person of significance here in this arc and that only means that Luffy will take on the form of Nika to continue fighting Saturn. This isn’t a surprise to any fan, given that whatever transformation Luffy has other than Gear 5 is not enough to defeat Saturn. Luffy will most definitely take this form and, this will also likely influence Bonney greatly. Bonney will, for the first time, see Nika right in front of him and this will allow her to strengthen her belief in Nika, as well as give her a proper description of this legendary figure from the past. This means that whenever Bonney uses Distorted Future, she can then transform into the white-haired Nika as well.
This will essentially set up a two versus one against Saturn, where, of course, Luffy will do the majority of the work. However, Bonney will likely get in a few hits as well. Fans should fully expect Bonney to take on the Nika transformation in the Egghead arc and, when that happens, she will beat Saturn to her heart’s desire. This is going to be an interesting fight, however, later down the line, the ultimate battle of this arc is always going to be Luffy versus Saturn.
Saturn’s Defeat
Bonney’s involvement in the fight against Saturn is absolute. She has already landed some hits and, now, is being saved by her father. Once she sees Nika, she will likely take on Gear 5 herself temporarily and, then, land a powerful blow on Saturn too. However, after that, this fight is going to be a proper one-on-one between Luffy and Saturn. Luffy is the Warrior of Liberation and this is his job to finish. Saturn represents everything that Luffy despises in the world and, for him, taking him down is going to be a priority. This will also confirm Kuma’s beliefs that Luffy is Nika as he will finally see him in full glory in front of him.
At the same time, Bonney will also witness this miracle and, just as she mentioned in the chapter, it will reinforce her belief in the old legend of Nika as well. This is going to be a glorious fight that fans will absolutely love, and one that will be difficult for Luffy to fight as well. Saturn is an incarnation of the devil and the powers that he possesses are certainly demonic. He will be up against Luffy, the Warrior of Liberation and light who will bring joy and laughter to the entire world.
Luffy is eventually going to crush Saturn in battle and the rest will be taken care of by the Iron Giant, who has already awakened. Thanks to the giant, the siege of Egghead will be broken and the Straw Hat Pirates can finally secure an exit pathway. Meanwhile, the nuclear reactors on Egghead will likely be destroyed and the island itself will be reduced to ash, with only Vega lpunk and possibly a satellite or two managing to escape.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. Since One Piece is going to be on break, the release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1104, is set to be January 17, 2023.
