The wonderful world of One Piece hosts unique and wonderful locations, as well as awful places that are dangerous to live in. Some of these islands and countries caused the Straw Hat crew a very unpleasant time for many reasons, either because of the terrain of the place, the wildlife found there, or the unfriendly occupants residing within. These places have unique ordeals that they pose for individuals in the show, with some distinctive and generally unorthodox designs and terrain, making for an interesting location despite being unpleasant.

Regardless of the reason, these places are considered some of the worst locations in the world of One Piece yet each offers a unique experience for both the Straw Hat crew and viewers alike. From regions like Punk Hazard, which has an intense and mostly uninhabitable climate, to the lawless and dangerous pirate island of Hachinosu, these locations provide their own unique and sometimes dark perspectives on the world of One Piece. They illustrate that the extensive world is not only filled with beauty and wonder but also with darkness and morbidity.

The Perilous Island Of Pirates

One of the most dangerous islands on this list, Hachinosu, is located in the New World and is also known as Pirate Island, often considered a paradise for pirates. With that being said, it is a lawless region occupied entirely by dangerous pirates, making anyone who visits it prone to danger.

This medium-sized island has an intimidating skull-like formation at its center. If that wasn’t reason enough, it is occupied by pirates and is the current base of the Blackbeard Pirates, a dangerous crew led by the pirate Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard, an emperor of the sea and one of the most treacherous pirates in the world of One Piece. These dangerous inhabitants and dilapidated terrain make it extremely undesirable and could be the grave of those unfortunate enough to sail.

4 Tequila Wolf

The Endless Bridge Country

Tequila Wolf is a country located in East Blue and is most notable for being the construction site of a massive bridge. Under the mandate of the World Nobles, the slaves of this country have been building a bridge tirelessly for 700 years. The country’s purpose is to serve as a route that connects different islands for purposes unknown to the general public.

The country employs slaves who are either convicted criminals or people who are from countries not affiliated with the World Government. The country itself is the bridge, and the residents have to move forward as the construction of the bridge progresses, resulting in the creation of multiple abandoned ruins in the wake of constant progression. Any who were unfortunate enough to land on the island would face a lifetime of servitude and slavery before its liberation by the revolutionary army.

3 Dressrosa

The Country Of Fake Smiles And Toys

Dressrosa is a lovely country found in the New World with lovely flower fields and nice weather, but during the reign of the warlord Donquixote Doflamingo, the island was thrown into an era of darkness and disarray. Actively caused by the hand of the warlord ruler, citizens were constantly transformed into toys as a means of silencing opposition as well as being an unseen workforce for the island.

The island’s women were also noted to be extremely passionate, causing a high crime rate due to frequent crimes of jealousy. Another feature of the country is its Colosseum, which features a center of high-stakes battles for pirates, bounty hunters, and warriors alike. Here, strong warriors from across the sea participate in gruesome matches, either simply to entertain the crowd or to fight for prizes. The country was also notably a key location for the distribution of artificial devil fruits called “Smile,” made to empower the beast pirates led by the Yonko Kaido.

2 Germa Kingdom

The Royal Kingdom Of Technology

The Germa kingdom is the only seafaring kingdom in the world of One Piece and is also known as the “Kingdom of Science.” Being one of the most technologically advanced places in the world, the kingdom of Germa is a country of technology and innovation governed by the evil Vinsmoke family, which, under the rule of Vinsmoke Judge, has the single purpose of retaking East Blue.

The residents of this country are under the rule of the Vinsmoke family, which exists solely to serve as their army and workforce. The kingdom and all its residents are known underground as the evil army “Germa 66,” a notable force, especially in the region of East Blue. As the sovereign of this evil nation, the Vinsmoke family consists of genetically altered members, made to be cold and evil and unable to feel emotions. This island of evil and its inhabitants make it one of the most uniquely unpleasant places to live in One Piece.

1 Mary Geoise

The Aristocrat’s Holy Land

Located at the base of the Red Line, Mary Geoise is the capital of the world government and serves as a major route for passage between the two halves of the Grand Line. It is called the holy land and houses major world powers and government officials, including a set of aristocratic elites called the Celestial Dragons. Besides the presence of these important figures, this place houses many important secrets of the world and is extremely guarded.

The major concern of this place is the presence of the Celestial Dragons, who, by the laws of the World Government, are untouchable and above the law, being able to do absolutely anything, including participate in slave auctions and slave ownership, with the full backing of the government. Furthermore, there is an occasional gathering of government-affiliated countries in the Holy Land known as the Reverie. This gathering can attract dangerous individuals and be the cause of major world conflicts.
