Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 8 dropped earlier this month and it was certainly quite a different chapter when compared to the previous ones that the fans have seen in the sequel series so far. Usually, Boruto chapters are packed with action, but this week, more focus was thrown on the exposition side of things. Still, this chapter was incredibly exciting for the fans, and, more importantly, it delivered some very big revelations that will have massive implications moving forward.
From a conversation between Boruto and Shikamaru, all the way to the move of the Shinju, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 8 covered a lot of interesting stuff, and things are only just getting started.
Boruto’s Escape From Konoha
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 8 picked up right from where the previous one left off. Fans got to see Boruto Uzumaki engage in a conversation with Shikamaru. Once again, fans got a lot of exposition pertaining to the Shinju. Their strength, their abilities, their process of creation, and their goals were focused on quite a bit. At the same time, Kawaki was seen finally waking up from his short sleep. Immediately after waking up, he sought out Boruto because he wanted to confront him in battle. Delta was also seen accompanying Kawaki as, alone, he would not stand a chance against the Uzumaki.
The goal here was to eliminate Boruto once and for all, and for Kawaki to fulfill his mission successfully. However, Boruto Uzumaki himself is quite a sensor and he knows how Kawaki moves. Furthermore, Shikamaru provided Boruto with an update on what Kawaki was up to, and how to avoid the situation. Unsurprisingly, Boruto Uzumaki moved away in time, and this was suspicious to Kawaki. While Kawaki did not draw a connection between Shikamaru informing Boruto, he did seem rather suspicious, given the timing, and Boruto not having any knowledge of him coming towards him. Still, he did not pay too much attention to it, and that is where the first half of the chapter was mainly focused on.
In the previous chapter of Boruto, fans saw quite a bit of development when it comes to Mitsuki’s character. Mitsuki, who was previously adamant on wanting to eliminate Boruto since he felt Kawaki was his sun, had now started to look inwards. Boruto’s words deeply resonated with him, and his conversation with Ada suggested that Mitsuki had changed to some degree. Where this development will go from here onwards is something the fans will have to wait and see for themselves. Regardless, it was certainly nice for the fans to see that the author is leading this storyline somewhere.
The Shinju Make Their Move
Quite easily, the biggest part of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 8 was the move of the Shinju. Fans know the Shinju to be incredibly powerful beings and they are the main antagonist of the series at this point in time. Towards the end of the chapter, they finally started moving. As fans know already, the goal for Jura is to get to Naruto Uzumaki. That is precisely what he intends to do and he took Hidari with him. Within a few moments, fans could see the Shinju travel to Konoha, thanks to the Claw Grimes and the Claw Marks that they have access to. Using these Claw Marks, they emerge right outside of Konoha, and entered the village.
Immediately, Ino detected an unknown source of chakra, as well as a known source of chakra. Of course, the known source of chakra belonged to Sasuke Uchiha, while the unknown one belonged to none other than Jura. Both of them entered the village immediately and started to track down Naruto.
This was quite interesting as Jura fully believed that Naruto was in the village. The reasoning for this was that Jura could feel the Tailed Beasts inside of him, since the Beasts itself is connected to him, as he is a product of a Tailed Beast as well. Jura could easily sense his chakra and the plan was to trace it down. Naruto, being a Jinchuriki, simply served as a radar for Jura, however, things did not make sense here. As fans know already, Naruto is sealed away in the dimension of Daikokuten, and Kurama doesn’t even exist inside of him. For Jura to track him down in Konoha did not make much sense to the fans, however, later down the line, things explained themselves better.
Himawari’s Big Secret
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 8 gave fans a massive shock towards the end, however, before that, Konoha shinobi confronted both Jura and Hidari at the same time. Kawaki, being the strongest of the lot, was the first one to attack them, and unsurprisingly, Jura and Hidari were both able to fend him off. In fact, Jura spared his life and utterly overwhelmed him in battle. This served as a reminder to the fans about how strong the Shinju truly are. It is also an indication of the fact that Kawaki isn’t all that powerful, even after the 3-year timeskip. Regardless of how much he has grown, Kawaki still has ways to go and he’s nowhere near the level of Boruto at this point in time.
Aside from that, the biggest part of the chapter came right towards the end, where Jura was seen utterly shocked at noticing Himawari. Jura believed that Naruto Uzumaki would be in the village, as that is where he was sensing the Tailed Beast chakra from. However, instead, it turned out to be none other than Himawari. It is now confirmed that Himawari has Tailed Beast chakra inside of her. Now, Himawari has to fend off both Hidari and Jura, along with the help of other Konoha shinobi in the next chapter.
This is quite an interesting development in the story, and clearly, one that raises many questions. Fans are not sure at the moment as to whether Himawari has Kurama inside of her, or, if she has the chakra of all the nine Tailed Beasts. Regardless, fans will surely find the answer to these questions within a few weeks.
Overall, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 8 was extremely exciting for the fans, and even though the first section was filled with developments that didn’t really add much to the story, the second part was certainly exciting. Himawari’s role here is bigger than expected, and it’s something that fans will be eager for the story to build on. From here onwards, things will only get more exciting in Boruto, and it appears that the series is finally picking up the pace once again. All the fans need to do is to sit back and wait for the author to tackle some of the biggest plot points next month.
Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9, is set to be April 20, 2024.
