To Covered Up the World Noble’s Manhunt

God Valley Incident is known throughout the world as the day when the mighty Marines under the leadership of Vice Admiral Garp successfully defeated the infamous Rocks Pirates. But the truth was, neither Garp nor Rocks Pirates was supposed to be on God Valley that day 38 years ago. God Valley was supposed to be the ground for an entirely different kind of bloodbath, but everything went south real quick that day.

The World Nobles has a horrifying game called the Native Hunting Competition that seems to be held every three years. As the name suggests, it is a “sport” for the deplorable World Nobles where they get to hunt and kill a native inhabitant of an island that is not affiliated with the World Government. The objective of the game is basically a native cleansing. Whoever can kill the most native inhabitants will win the competition. Once the island is free from its inhabitants, the World Government will claim the island and do whatever it wants with it. 38 years ago, the arena that was chosen for this inhuman activity was none other than a small island called the God Valley.

What happened in God Valley was supposed to be a secret, but somehow the pirates got wind of it and came to the island. Chaos ensues, and by the end of the day, the news about God Valley would’ve traveled all around the world. The World Government knew that if the public knew what the World Nobles were doing on the island, there would be riots and rebellions all over the world. So they crafted a different narrative and broadcast their version of the truth instead. One that not only hid the World Noble’s manhunt but also painted them as the good guys.

To Covered Up Garp and Roger Fighting Together

While the World Noble was busy committing a crime against humanity, a ragtag group of children led by Emporio Ivankov, who was still a little boy at the time, leaked what happened on the island. Not only that, they also mentioned the incredible prizes that were supposed to be given to the winner of the competition, which were two extremely rare devil fruits. This news reached the people on the nearest island, which happened to be the Pirate Island Hachinosu.

Upon hearing this news, countless pirates set sail to the island, including the infamous Rocks Pirates and Roger Pirates. They knew that there would be numerous Marines on the island, but the prospect of getting their hands on those rare powers was too big of an opportunity to miss. When the Marines heard about the waves of pirates closing in on the God Valley island, the then Admiral Kong immediately contacted Garp and told him to come to the island.

Needless to say, what happened after that was one of the most chaotic battlefields in history. One way led to another, and Garp found himself joining forces with Gol D. Roger to fight against Rocks and his crews. After such a long and hard-fought battle, Garp and Roger managed to defeat the legendary Rocks Pirate, which led to the disbandment of the crews.

While the fact that the Rocks Pirates were annihilated was good news for the World Government, how they achieved the victory mattered so much more to them. There’s no way the World Government would ever admit to the public that they required the help of a pirate in order to defeat another pirate. They would rather die than admit they need help from a pirate to do their job. So they lied to the public and announced that Garp single-handedly defeated the Rocks Pirates.

To Claimed Sole Credit for Defeating the Legendary Rocks Pirates

Continuing from the previous section, there was another reason why the World Government lied about the involvement of Gol D. Roger in defeating Rocks and his crews. And it is to claim sole credit for annihilating the legendary Rocks Pirates.

Without a doubt, the God Valley Incident was one of the worst days ever for the World Government. But amidst such a chaotic situation, they manage to grasp a chance to not only hide the atrocity that they had committed but also come up on top and improve their reputation in the eyes of the people.

They were the villain who abused their power and massacred the entire population of an island. But through deceptions and manipulation, they managed to paint themselves as the hero and savior of the people. This is why despite the Marines giving him the title of a Hero, Garp refused to be an admiral. It’s a shame that the world won’t have a clue about the monstrosity that happened in the God Valley for the foreseeable future.
