My Hero Academia To End In The Next Five Chapters

Highlights

  • My Hero Academia creator Hirokoshi Kohei plans to end the series after 400+ chapters.
  • The manga’s final arc is underway, with an anime adaptation spanning seven seasons and four movies.
  • Spin-offs, console games, and mobile games expand the franchise’s popularity and reach.

Hirokoshi Kohei’s My Hero Academia is finally ready to wrap things up. The creator made his decision after over 400 chapters, which is by no means a small number, and shows how consistent he has been with his writing. Without the quality, the series would never have reached the heights that it did.

Currently, My Hero Academia is in its final stretch, which sees the heroes take the final stand against the evildoers in an epic showdown. So, the decision to finish the story is hardly surprising. The announcement regarding the conclusion of the manga was made in a tweet.

From the post, it is clear that Kohei is trying hard to ensure that the manga reaches a good conclusion that satisfies everyone. His emotions are also evident, as he highlighted the nearly decade-long run My Hero Academia had in the Weekly Shonen Jump. Barring any last-minute changes, My Hero Academia will end on August 5th, 2024.

My Hero Academia is one of the most popular manga series in the world. It has sold 100 million copies to date, making it part of an elite bracket. The series has released 40 volumes, and this number will likely go up. With the manga being so popular, it is hardly surprising that it has received countless anime adaptations from others.

The anime for My Hero Academia started airing in 2016, and due to its immense reception, it was picked up for more seasons. The anime has produced seven seasons in total, with the latest one airing in May 2024. There will likely be at least one more season before the anime ends.

Aside from the anime adaptation, My Hero Academia has received countless movie adaptations. It has a whopping four movies, all of which have earned positive reception from the audience and critics alike. The fourth movie has yet to be released, but it is planned to come out on August 2, 2024, in Japan. It will be interesting to see whether My Hero Academia: You’re Next will earn more than the previous movies.

My Hero Academia had a popular spin-off called My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and it developed a substantial fan base of its own. The unique approach to the story along with the interesting characters played a key role in its popularity. Naturally, the fans were sad to see it end. The franchise has more spin-offs, but they’re not nearly as popular. My Hero Academia has console games as well as mobile games. My Hero Ultra Rumble is the latest game to come out on consoles and PCs.
