That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

From demons to high elves, the world of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is populated by vastly diverse species and races, each competing to be the best and the strongest. However, the one who reigns supreme above the others is none other than a group of beings known as the True Dragons.

Before going any further, let’s talk about the difference between Dragons and True Dragons. When it comes to pure physical prowess, Dragons are undoubtedly the most powerful animal in the animal kingdom. But that’s all they are, animals that live and fight by following their instincts.

True Dragons, on the other hand, are akin to Gods. They are the embodiment of creation and destruction, and they have been around for ages. Some even witnessed the birth of the universe. True Dragons possess a high level of intelligence, but they’re not always the wisest. With that out of the way, here are the four known True Dragons in the world of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, from youngest to oldest.

4 The “Storm Dragon” Veldora Tempest

The Unruly Youngest Brother

Veldora is the youngest of the four True Dragon siblings. Unlike his older siblings, Veldora never considers the consequences of his actions. One minute he rests in a lustrous forest and the next minute he goes on a destructive rampage. As the name suggests, Veldora’s main element is the storm. His anger can cause a colossal raging storm that can destroy an entire nation in a matter of minutes. In fact, that was precisely what he did to the once-powerful vampire nation known as the “Night Rose.”

Hundreds of years before the show’s story, a hero managed to seal Veldora and bound him to the Jura Forest. It was Rimuru who eventually managed to break that seal. That’s why Veldora became super attached to Rimuru and always stays by his side. The Storm Dragon has become a part of Rimuru’s inner circle. Nowadays, he walks around in the form of a laid-back young man, reading manga and eating sweets whenever he wants.

3 The “Scorch Dragon” Velgrynd

The Passionate Sister

Out of the other True Dragons siblings, the “Scorch Dragon” Velgrynd is the most passionate. True to her fiery nature, she has a fierce attitude and immense destructive firepower. Similar to her eldest brother, Velgrynd falls in love with a human. The love of her life is a man named Rudra Nam Ul Nasca, the former crown prince of the Nasca Kingdom and the current Emperor of the Eastern Empire.

She spends her days together with her loved one in the comfort of the Eastern Empire’s luxurious palace. Her human form is a beautiful woman with long sapphire hair and a disarming smile. She is usually content with her calm and uneventful life in the Empire and not interested in causing any unnecessary damage, unlike her little brother. However, if somebody threatens the life of her man, she won’t hesitate to scorch the Earth until nothing remains of them in sight. A minor spoiler for the non-light-novel-readers out there, Velgrynd will go up against one of her siblings for this exact reason.

2 The “Frost Dragon” Velzard

The Cool And Cunning Sister

Contrary to her freezing power, Velzard is quite childish and prideful. In a way, she is the combination of both of her younger siblings. She can be as impulsive as Veldora, but she also possesses the mental capacity to hold herself back and look at the bigger picture, like Velgrynd. Once she finds somebody whom she truly likes and respects, she can be quite loyal, just like Veldora, but unlike Velgrynd, she has little to no capacity for compassion. She’s an Ice Queen through and through.

Nowadays, Velzard spends her time together with Guy Crimson, the leader and the most powerful demon lords, at their Frost Palace in the Ice Continent. She is his trusted advisor. Just like the rest of the True Dragon siblings, Velzard uses her humanoid form (a beautiful petite girl with bluish-white hair and a sinister smile) in her day-to-day life. Interestingly enough, Velzard is the only one that Veldora truly fears in this world.

1 The “Star King Dragon” Veldanava

The All-Powerful Creator

If there’s any entity that can be considered a God in the world of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, that would be the “Star King Dragon” Veldanava. According to the legend, Veldanava was the one who created the universe, the world, and everything in it, including his own siblings and other magical beings. As it turned out, he did all that because he was bored.

In the beginning, Veldananva possessed numerous Godly powers, including omniscience and omnipotence. But as his creation continued to grow, Veldanava began to voluntarily give out his powers one by one to those that he deemed worthy. One of those people was a human named Rudra Nam Ul Nasca, the future Emperor of the Eastern Empire and Velgrynd’s lover. In the last decades of his life, Veldanava had given out so many of his powers that he was basically indistinguishable from a regular human. He spent those years together with the love of his life, Lucia Nasca, Rudra’s younger sister. This unlikely couple was blessed with a child, a feisty girl named Milim Nava.

Speaking of Milim, the reason why she is not on this list is that she is not a True Dragon. She may have a comparable power level as her uncle Veldora, but since her mother is a human, that means MIlim is a Demi Dragon, not a full True Dragon. Another name that doesn’t make the list is Rimuru Tempest. Further on in the story, Rimuru will eventually evolve into an entity that is basically indistinguishable from a True Dragon. He even earned the title “Chaos Creator”. However, since Rimuru evolved into it rather than being born as a True Dragon like the original siblings, he doesn’t earn a spot on this list either.
