In a world where mythical creatures like centaurs and mermaids co-exist with humans, a lamia named Miia moves in with Kimihito Kurusu, a regular Japanese student. Much to Kimihito’s chagrin, he soon plays host to a bunch of other monster girls, including a centaur, a harpy, and a slime, as the series progresses.
The girls harbor affection for Kimihito soon enough, though unfortunately for them, interspecies relationships are forbidden by law, except for a loophole that allows Kimihito to marry one of the girls as an experiment. As an iyashikei slice-of-life anime, the series is more about Yuzu’s interactions and growing relationship with the other fox girls, and it doesn’t have any overarching plot.
The rapport between the cheerful Yuzu and the serious Satsuki is absolutely adorable, and the relationships between the other characters are also a breezy watch. The show in general works as a relaxing breather more than anything else, and the chemistry between Yuzu and Satsuki is sure to warm anyone’s soul.

College student Hideki Motosuwa dreams of having a persocom one day, but he’s too poor to afford one. Luckily, he finds one in the form of a beautiful girl lying among a pile of trash bags when walking home. Upon turning her on, Hideki decides there’s something wrong with the persocom. She can only say one word, ‘chii’ (which becomes her name), and she doesn’t behave like a typical persocom.
Hideki then gets confronted with the idea that Chii must be one of the ‘Chobits’, special units that have real emotions and thoughts, and so begins Hideki’s journey to help Chii act more ‘human’, including having to deal with the Chobit’s growing feelings for him.

Poor communication strikes, however, and Lum mistakes Ataru’s marriage promise to marry his girlfriend as a proposal to the alien princess. Lum happily accepts and moves into the unlucky boy’s house. Despite Ataru’s initial reluctance, the two grow closer, despite his flirtatious nature and Lum’s tendency to shock him as punishment.

Chise Hatori, a fifteen-year-old high-school student, sells herself off to slavery after having been isolated most of her life. At a London auction, a tall humanoid with an animal skull for a head buys her and takes her to his cottage in rural England.
There, the man, named Elias Ainsworth, tells Chise she is a Sleigh Beggy, a being with a natural affinity for magic. Elias himself is a magus, a demonic sorcerer with mysterious origins. Chise then starts her new life as Elias’ apprentice and future bride, discovering her magical abilities and forming relationships, including a romantic one with her master.

My-Anime-List Score: 7.83
In a world populated by anthropomorphic animals, there exists a tension between carnivores and herbivores. Legoshi, a timid gray wolf and member of the high school’s drama club, meets Haru, a white dwarf rabbit with a less-than-stellar reputation.
Legoshi eventually develops feelings for Haru, with his own carnivorous desires and the inherent animosity between his kind and hers complicating things, to say the least. With a fair bit of violence and sexual content, this anime is definitely not family-friendly, despite it featuring furry creatures.
1 Kamisama Kiss
My-Anime-List Score: 8.22
Kamisama Kiss follows the forbidden relationship between Nanami Momozono, a regular high-school girl, and Tomoe, a fox yokai. After saving Mikage, a former land god, from a dog, Nanami is made the new land god. Despite Tomoe’s initial reluctance to serve Nanami, as he was Mikage’s familiar before, fate brings the two of them together anyway, and the two fall in love.
As a reverse harem series, Nanami is practically surrounded by other bishonen yokai, and the anime follows the young girl as she tries to balance her growing feelings for the hot-headed Tomoe, and her duties as a brand-new god.
