Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9 dropped recently and it was certainly a very exciting month for all the fans. Not only did this chapter give attention to the abilities of the Shinju, specifically Jura, but it also answered a very big question as to what the latent power inside of Himawari Uzumaki truly is.

This month’s chapter was certainly one of the most anticipated ones, and all the fans of the story are eagerly waiting to see how the plot shapes from here onwards. An exciting battle in Konoha looks set to take place, and fans have no doubt that this month’s events will only lead to even more greatness later down the line.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9 opened up with Jura fighting against the likes of Team 10. To Jura, this was merely play time. However, for Team 10, this was a very serious situation. They were seen trying their best to protect Himamari from him, given that she was confirmed to be their Target in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9. This was something that the fans enjoyed quite a bit, since it was one of the major complaints pertaining to the side characters, and it was nice to see them get a moment against an individual as strong as Jura.

Such incredible coodination without a single verbal exchage! How magnificent!

However, this certainly is not enough and the author needs to build on it in order for this to be substantial in the future. Still, what fans can acknowledge is that this was a positive step in that direction. Coming over to the events of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9, fans saw Jura clearly mentioned that Himawari has the chakra of the Nine-Tails inside of her and that is why they are there. Jura also offered an exchange to the Shinobi of Konoha. He wouldn’t fight if they simply handed over Himawari, however, this was of course going to be rejected.

As such, they had to resort to using force to seize Himawari, and that is precisely what he did. Using the power of Wood Release, Himawari was almost consumed by Jura. However, just before that happened, Team 10 sprung into action and saved her. Shikadai used his Shadow Manipulation techniques to break her free, while Chouchou saved her from her fall. The teamwork of Team 10 was put on display greatly in this Boruto chapter, and it was such that even Jura couldn’t help but praise them for it.

However, the author also made it clear for the fans to see that their strength paled in comparison to the Shinju clones and that was certainly not a surprise. Still, Himawari was safely taken away from Jura, thanks to Inojin’s Jutsu, and now, these individuals are on the run from the Shinju, hoping to get them away from the village. This is because they are tremendously powerful and could destroy the entire Village if they go all out. Jura even launched a powerful Tailed Beast Ball from his eye, and this blast, which escaped the village, would have obliterated everyone had it erupted right inside. As such, the Shinobi are doing very well to lure them away from the village and, then, they will most likely decide to fight them.

Boruto Vs Kawaki

Boruto and Kawaki Had Their First Face Off After The Timeskip

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9 also gave fans a look at the return of Boruto Uzumaki to Konoha. He was seen in Konoha moments earlier, and in this chapter, he was not given any rest. Boruto returned to the village immediately after returning to Kashin Koji’s hideout. One thing that fans might have missed in this chapter is that Kashin Koji seems to have some connection to Orochimaru. In this chapter, Kashin Koji was seen at either one of Orochimaru’s hideouts, or potentially Ryuchi cave. The snake symbolism was all over the place, which means that Orochimaru might be due for a return in Boruto sooner rather than later.

Regardless, Kashin Koji was able to observe the situation well and report it to Boruto immediately. This meant that Boruto Uzumaki was deployed to Konoha once again, and he did so effortlessly, making use of the Flying Thunder God technique to return to the village. As soon as that happened, Boruto faced off against none other than Kawaki. This was a much-anticipated battle and fans knew that it would happen at some point in this arc. However, much to the surprise of the fans, Kawaki was absolutely no match for Boruto Uzumaki.

Pitiful. You haven’t been training at all, have you?

Even though his eye has matured fully, he cannot hold his own against Boruto, and the author made that quite clear. Even Sukunahikona, which is his strongest Jutsu, was dodged by Boruto easily and he took him down with a single punch, mentioning that Kawaki has not been training at all. Clearly, Boruto was the superior one here, and now that he knows that Himawari is the target of the Shinju, he has no choice but to engage them in combat.

Kurama Emerges

Quite easily, the most exciting part of the chapter came right towards the very end. This was when Himawari and Team 10 were seen escaping from the Shinju and luring them away from the village. Himawari had the idea of being dropped so the others could save their lives, however, Team 10, naturally, rejected the idea. This is precisely when Himawari was able to see inside of herself, and Kurama finally emerged. This version of Kurama was finally confirmed to be a miniature one, and fans do not know much about how it survived, and how exactly it exists inside of Himawari. Kurama certainly did confirm that he was hidden inside all along. Keeping his presence hidden was his goal right from the get-go, and it was only after the 10 Tails sniffed him out that he had to make his presence known.

From there onwards, Kurama introduced himself to Himawari, and that is precisely where the chapter concluded. This sets up an exciting meeting between Himawari and Kurama, and fans will find out all about how Kurama ended up surviving. This is something that all the fans are currently wondering, given that the story previously set the precedent that Kurama had burnt up all his chakra and essentially died permanently. There are a few ways using which the beast could have survived, however, fans will simply have to sit back and see what the author decides to do with this plot point.

Good grief. I can’t believe that Ten Tails jerk would sniff me out. Little girl, do you know who I am?

At the same time, fans also need to keep in mind that Kurama existing inside of Himawari as a friendly entity would mean that she is a perfect Jinchuriki and would then be able to engage in a high-level battle in the upcoming chapters. All of this hinges on the conversation between Himawari and Kurama, and, as these two talk things out, fans could very well be in for an exciting fight between the duo of Jura and Hidari and Kurama and Himawari. All things considered, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9 was certainly immense and fans enjoyed the major shocks that it delivered. From here onwards, things are most likely going to get even more exciting, and fans absolutely cannot wait for that.

Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 10, is set to be May 20, 2024.
