7 Vinsmoke Sanji
Goal: Finding All Blue
Vinsmoke Sanji has been passionate about cooking ever since he was a child. He used to cook for his mother but was bullied for it by his siblings. Sanji got the opportunity to pursue his desire after he started a restaurant with Zeff, who taught him to cook proper meals and instilled some principles in the young cook as well.
Sanji’s goal is to find the All Blue, a mysterious place where all four seas meet. Thus, it is filled with all sorts of cooking ingredients. The place is treated as a joke by most, but Sanji knows it exists, and it was the main reason for Sanji joining the Straw Hat Pirates.
6 Roronoa Zoro
Goal: Becoming The Strongest Swordsman In The World
Since his childhood, Zoro has made it clear that his goal is to become the “Strongest Swordsman in the World.” Zoro made a promise to his childhood friend, Kuina, and he intends to keep it at all costs. Zoro got a first-hand taste of the power of the world’s best when he fought Mihawk near Baratie. The Shichibukai obliterated him, but he was impressed by Zoro’s enthusiasm.
Since then, Zoro has fought many more individuals. Some of his fights have been easy, while others have been tough. The experience that he has gained from them has made him a man worth over a billion berries. With the story in the Final Saga, it won’t be long before Zoro accomplishes his goal.
5 Monkey D. Luffy
Goal: Finding The One Piece
Monkey D. Luffy is the son of Dragon and the grandson of Garp. He was inspired to become a pirate after he met Shanks. With every interaction, Luffy’s desire began to grow, and it reached the point where he wanted to become the King of the Pirates.
When he grew up, Luffy decided to set sail and find the treasure left behind by Gol D. Roger. Interestingly, Luffy’s dream is not just related to obtaining the One Piece. He wants something more, but so far, the details are unknown. When Luffy told his dream to his crew, they had mixed reactions, so it is hard to make an accurate guess.
4 Gol D. Roger
Goal: Finding The One Piece
Gol D. Roger was an ambitious man, and that was evident during his first meeting with Rayleigh, where Roger stated his desire to turn the world upside down. Not long after setting sail, Roger’s crew was branded as one of the most infamous groups in the world.
The Roger Pirates managed to complete an entire trip across the Grand Line, but the captain knew something was missing. So he recruited Oden from Whitebeard and set out again. This time, Roger found the Laugh Tale and the One Piece. Furthermore, he learned about the true history of the world.
3 Monkey D. Dragon
Goal: Toppling The World Government
Monkey D. Dragon is a former Marine who is known as the most wanted criminal in the world. Dragon probably left the Marines after learning how they were nothing but lapdogs to the Celestial Dragons. After he left the organization, Dragon founded the Freedom Fighters, but he wasn’t successful with his approach.
So, he decided to turn it into the Revolutionary Army and began to liberate countries that were under the control of tyrants. Dragon and his organization have already helped multiple nations, but they still have a ways to go before they accomplish their mission of making the world a free place.
2 Rocks D. Xebec
Goal: Conquering The World
Rocks D. Xebec was the captain of the Rocks Pirates, who were considered the most dangerous and powerful crew of their time. He was a fearsome individual who only cared about obtaining more power. Rocks’ goal was to become ruler of the world, which was never going to be easy. This is why Rocks tried to recruit as many strong individuals as he could.
It is possible that he went to God Valley in hopes of obtaining something that would help him accomplish his goal. Unfortunately for him, Rocks and his crew were surrounded by the Marines and the Roger Pirates. This led to a fierce battle in which Rocks was killed and his crew was dissolved.
1 Blackbeard
Goal: Becoming The King Of The World
Blackbeard is the captain of the Blackbeard Pirates, and one of the most noteworthy pirates in the world. However, he was not always such a famous pirate. Blackbeard planned his rise to power meticulously. First, he became a Shichibukai by handing Ace to the Marines. Then he gained another Devil Fruit by killing Whitebeard. Finally, he challenged the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates and defeated them to attain the title of a Yonko.
Clearly, Blackbeard has everything planned out, and given his opportunistic nature, it is hard for him not to achieve his goals. While he has not stated his desire explicitly, Van Augur did reveal that they were after the world, implying that they wanted to become the ones who sat at the very top of the world.
