Jujutsu Kaisen Hints At Gojo’s Return As A Villain
Gojo Satoru will probably return as a villain in JJK.
Fans have been wondering as to when JJK is going to end, fearing that the author might end the series when so many things are left unanswered and, at the same time, the series is just too enjoyable. A while ago, the author of JJK, clarified his plans about the manga and its eventual conclusion. While it is clear that the manga is now closing towards its end, it appears that JJK will still continue for the time being.
Jujutsu Kaisen Currently
Currently, JJK is in the Culling Game arc. Fans know that this arc started quite a while ago and is certainly one that split opinion among the fans. In terms of story writing, this might be one of the weakest JJK arcs that Gege has written. This has led to the fans complaining about the drop in the quality of the story. However, in terms of fights, this arc has certainly not been lacking. JJK has continued to maintain its incredible intensity throughout all arcs and in the culling game arc, fans might have witnessed some of the very best clashes in the entire story.
The Culling Game arc exists to get the series to its eventual end game. It already feels as if the story is close to wrapping up, with major characters dying and the biggest of villains getting directly involved in the plot as well. For instance, fans have seen the likes of Gojo and Sukuna battle in the Culling Game Arc and it was clear to see that this is something that should only be happening in the endgame of the story. At the same time, Sukuna came back into his reincarnated state and, what’s more, recently, Kenjaku was also decapitated by Yuta. The major villains of JJK are now directly involved in fights and it appears that they will have to be dealt with in the Culling Game arc. That quite easily confirms that Jujutsu Kaisen is in its very climax and that has fans both excited and scared at the same time.
Gege Akutami On Manga’s End
There have been rumors about JJK ending for quite a while now. In fact, at one point, there were even rumors about the story finally wrapping up in 2023. Fans can rest assured that JJK is not ending anytime soon and the manga will most definitely continue into 2024, and possibly even beyond that. The fact is that JJK still has quite a lot of loose ends to tie and the story has not reached the stage where it can simply be concluded within a matter of chapters. While there were strong rumors about the manga ending in 2023, it appears that the author’s plan to finish the manga has been delayed, for one reason or another. The manga will not be ending anytime soon but, instead, it continues to develop towards its eventual end.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Will Kenjaku Die?
Kenjaku’s death seems inevitable in JJK.
Previously, the author clarified that while JJK is in its final phase, that doesn’t mean the manga is ending. It means that the beginning of the end has now finally started and the end is still quite some time away. This means that fans will get to enjoy many incredible moments in the story as well as amazing fights before JJK finally wraps up. In other words, one can take this to mean that JJK is in the Final Saga and this saga could be comprised of a few arcs that will eventually conclude the story.
What Next After Culling Game?
Currently, JJK is in the Culling Game arc. For those who don’t know, the Culling Game was started by none other than Kenjaku. He had always planned this from the very beginning of the series. Kenjaku has been behind every major villainous act that has been committed in the world of JJK. He decided to seal away Gojo and successfully pulled it off in Shibuya. After that, he planned on taking control of Mahito’s powers and, when he accomplished that, he kickstarted his plan to start the Culling Game.
Ever since the Culling Game began, many sorcerers have been pitted against each other, both current as well as ancient. Fans have since seen some of the strongest of them re-emerging and, at the same time, the most intense fights have taken place in this arc.
Kenjaku’s eventual goal is to generate enough cursed energy so that a merger would take place between Tengen and the population of Japan. He wants to give rise to a higher order of being and bring back the times of the golden age of sorcery. This plan seems quite grand and it is quite clear for the fans to see that It needs stopping by the main characters of the story. While the Culling Game arc certainly has seen these villains fight and win many battles, whether they will meet their end or not remains to be seen. Regardless, the Culling Game arc is likely not going to be the end of JJK.
Fans might see the third and final segment of the story begin after this arc, which is when the story will most likely conclude. The fact is that the main characters still have a lot of developing left to do. They are not yet at the peak of their powers and they don’t seem anywhere near that either. As such, one more arc after Kenjaku’s sinister plan is stopped seems more likely.
When Is Jujutsu Kaisen Ending?
When taking everything into consideration, fans can come to the conclusion that JJK is not ending anytime soon. While there is a small chance that the manga will conclude towards the end of 2024, even that doesn’t appear to be likely. A proper finishing point for the manga would be somewhere around the middle of 2025 or towards the end of the year. There are a lot of loose ends that need to be tied before the story finally wraps up efficiently. The last thing that the fans would want is for the story to finish in an unfulfilling manner with lots of plot points left to tackle. The author seemingly realizes that as well and that might be one of the biggest reasons why he postponed the ending of his manga.
It must also be remembered that mangaka often miscalculate how much of their story is left and, most of the times, the more they draw, the more they realize that they need to add more details to their story for it to make more sense and to provide convincing explanations to the fans, all the while creating compelling stories. Jujutsu Kaisen, while close to the end, will not be ending next year either, and the fans can’t breathe a sigh of relief as the incredible fights are likely to continue in this fantastic manga.
Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 244, is set to be December 3, 2023.
