The mutant Nocturne is an X-Men ally, most notably known for the time she spent as a member of the reality-hopping team of mutants known as the Exiles. Although she has largely been forgotten as of late, she appears to be featured on a poster for Marvel’s upcoming “Sins of Sinister” crossover, in which the young mutant appears to be going up against a version of the Omega-Level mutant Storm.
Talia Josephine Wagner is neither an average girl nor an average mutant. As the alternate reality daughter of the X-Men’s Nightcrawler and the Avengers’ Scarlet Witch, Talia possesses powerful skills employed by both of her parents. Talia has the ability to possess others as well as limited telepathy and the ability to project hex bolts, which are blasts of energy similar to those produced by her mother. Her appearance is very similar to that of her father, with blue fur covering her skin and a prehensile tail that is uniquely retractable. She has served as a member of both the Exiles and the main X-Men team, and has demonstrated musical prowess as a member of a band called the Butt Monkeys.
The majority of Talia’s time as a hero was spent as a member of the Exiles, a strange group of mutants that existed outside the normal confines of time. She was recruited to this team after her timeline was altered, negating her birth due to her father’s premature death. As a member of the Exiles, Talia (or T.J.) proved herself as a formidable hero, facing dangerous foes from a number of different timelines and realities. She eventually ventured to Earth-616, where she briefly joined the X-Men and fought beside a different version of her father, who welcomed her with open arms upon learning of her true identity.
Talia still has a ton of untapped potential, and the possibly of her facing off against any version of Storm is particularly exiciting for fans of the franchise. This would not be the first time she has faced off against versions of the X-Men, as she faced an insane Cyclops alongside the X-Men of her original world. “Sins of Sinister” appears to be providing a chance to see a great character in action once again, even if the action will most likely take place in yet another alternate timeline.
