Although the cosplayer is seated in their chair, their seductive pose of one leg hooked over the other and gaze is enough to send a shiver down one’s spine. Wearing Yor’s halter-style black dress and thigh-high boots, the cosplayer brandishes the assassin’s weapon of choice, a set of golden stiletto-type needles capable of slitting people’s throats in one move.

Yor Is A Multi-Faceted Character
Sometimes it’s hard to forget that Spy x Family’s Yor and her persona “Thorn Princess” are one and the same person. After all, the very name of the “Thorn Princess” is already enough to strike fear into people’s hearts because they know her entrance means that their death is imminent. On the other hand, Yor is shy, clumsy and a terrible cook. Although she often solves her problems through violent murder schemes, Yor has shown a soft and caring side, especially for those she loves. Even though Yor knows that Loid and Anya aren’t her real family, she quickly grows attached to them and will do anything to protect her family.
Tatsuya Endo’s work Spy x Family is one of the best-selling manga series of all time, selling over 29 million copies as of December 2022. Prior to its serialization in Shōnen Jump+, Spy x Family received a resounding positive reception from the editorial department, with the series’ serialization already decided before Endo, Lin and the department officially met. Taking elements from three of the mangaka’s previous one-shots, the story follows a spy named Twilight who undertakes a rather unusual mission: he must build a family for the sake of world peace. Taking on the tongue-in-cheek name Loid Forger, he adopts four-year-old Anya from an orphanage and marries Yor, after proposing to her using the ring from a bomb. The comedy combined with the action makes Spy x Family one of the rising anime series in recent years.
A Great Year for Spy x Family Fans
2023 is proving to be a massive one for Spy x Family and the series’ fans. A musical adaptation will premiere in Tokyo starting in March, with four actresses portraying Anya. Aside from Universal Studios Japan’s “SPY x FAMILY Secret Mission,” which will take place in Osaka park from Feb 17 to July 2, Spy x Family announced that a second season will air sometime in 2023. In the same year, Spy x Family will release a new and original film with Endo supervising.
