One Piece chapter 1117 was absolutely sensational in more ways than one. This chapter finally concluded Vegapunk’s message, and at the same time, marked the beginning of the end for the Egghead Island Arc. This arc has been full of exciting events, which include incredible battles, and at the same time, exciting lore drops as well.
Oda has made sure that this arc is a balance of both things, and that is something that fans have come to love. However, there are some things that did leave a sour taste in the mouths of the fans. More recently, fans got to see Vegapunk’s message being interrupted in One Piece chapter 1117 just as he was about to address the people of the D. Fans don’t know what he actually said, but, of course, they can always theorize about what Vegapunk truly wanted to say.
Vegapunk’s Major Reveals About The One Piece World
Vegapunk Gave A Massive Warning To The People Of The One Piece World
Vegapunk’s message has been going on for quite a while in One Piece and fans know that he has revealed quite a lot of exciting bits of information here and there. For instance, Vegapunk began his message by saying that the world is going to sink. This was at the core of his message. Essentially, he made a very bold prediction that the world of One Piece was going to sink under the waves once again. This bold prediction came after the sinking of Lulusia, which confirmed his fears that the ancient weapons were truly alive and well and being used to sink the world even further.
Let me cut to the chase. Our world is going to sink into the ocean!!
Vegapunk explained how this came to be as well. For starters, he explained that the world of One Piece long ago was very different from what it is now. There are actual giant continents instead of tiny islands and it is highly likely that the seas were very stable as well. People could traverse these lands and go from one country to another quite easily. Joyboy was born around this era as well, however, along with him came a giant war as well. The 20 Kingdoms that went on to form the World Government banded together and created The Alliance. They fought against the Ancient Kingdom, which was incredibly advanced, technologically speaking. Joyboy fought in this war as well and it lasted for 100 years.
At the end of these hundred years, Joyboy ended up dying and, with that, the war came to a conclusion. The World Government was established shortly after. At the same time, fans also know that the war that was fought during this century left its scars on the entire world. The usage of Ancient Weapons that was excessive in this 100-year void caused the water levels to rise by 200 meters overall. This essentially meant that the world of One Piece that existed back then sunk under the waves completely and only parts that were high enough to avoid being sunk are now present in the current world as tiny Islands.
Using this power, the World Government was able to control bits of information, and keep things under wraps. This message ties back to the present, as Vegapunk explained that the world of One Piece is going to sink again and he made this production based off of the destruction of Lulusia. Following this destruction, water levels rose by 1 meter in one week. He concluded that the Ancient Weapons are being utilized and that the world is still at risk. He also went on to explain that this Ancient Weapon was brought to life using the Mother Flame, which was stolen from him and used to power one of them. At the very end of his message, Vegapunk briefly touched upon the subject of the people of the D.
Vegapunk Interrupted Message For The D
Vegapunk Had A Final Message For The Prop Carrying The D
In One Piece chapter 1117, fans got to see Vegapunk finally conclude his message. Of course, the conclusion to this message didn’t go the way Vegapunk would have wanted. Just before he wrapped up his message, Vegapunk was interrupted, which meant that the very last part of this entire message was not transmitted.
This interruption was caused by the Five Elders, or, to be specific, four of the Five Elders. While Nusjuro was handling things on the Labophase, the other four Elders came down to the Fabriophase and decided to confront the Iron Giant which carried the transponder snail emitting the signal for Vegapunk’s message to be channeled to the entire world.
It was none other than Warcury who decided to tackle the Iron Giant very hard and as it did that, the signal was finally interrupted. With that, Vegapunk’s message came to an early end, and people all over the world were utterly disappointed. This was especially painful for the fans, because Vegapunk was about to reveal some of the most exciting parts of the story. By researching the Poneglyphs, Vegapunk was able to find out quite a bit about the people of the D. The last part of his message was concerning the people of the D and he directly addressed them as well.
Vegapunk clearly mentioned that his last bit of information was for those of the D. This gave fans a montage of various individuals who held the D in their name. For instance, Koby immediately thought of Luffy as well as Garp. At the same time, Teach was seen as curious as well, as was Dragon. Bepo thought of his Captain immediately after hearing these words. Clearly, the people of the D are following a very checkered fate and they have a massive role to play in the future. Vagapunk mentioned that “among you is…A” and that is precisely where the message eventually stopped.
What Did Vegapunk Want To Tell The D?
Vegapunk’s Message Could’ve Been A Welcome For Joyboy Or A Warning
It is difficult to predict what exactly Vegapunk was going to say to the people of the D. However, one thing that fans can assume is that Vegapunk either was speaking of a chosen individual who is going to bring about a great change in the future of One Piece, or an individual who actually works against the people of the Ancient Kingdom. These are the only two strong possibilities here. Either Vegapunk was referencing that there is a special individual who carries the D in their name who will go about and bring a great change in the future of the series, in other words, the new Joyboy. Or, Vegapunk could also have been saying that among the D there is a mole or a traitor. This is essentially how the World Government could have gotten their hands on the Uranus.
Lastly, I have one message for those scattered throughout the world who beat the name D. Within you, there is a…
Oda has also taken quite a lot of references from religious scriptures, and, as such, Vegapunk could have been referencing the return of an individual who will lead the world to a better future. Right now, there isn’t enough information to predict what exactly Vegapunk meant, but the two clear possibilities are that either Vegapunk was referencing the return of Joyboy among the D who will fulfill the centuries-old prophecy, in other words, an individual like Luffy, or, a traitor who collaborated with the World Government that fans are unaware of at this point in time who led to the fall of the Ancient Kingdom.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1118, is set to be June 23, 2024.
