The Final Saga of One Piece is well underway and fans are thoroughly enjoying every bit of it so far. The Egghead Island Arc, which is far from the core of the Final Saga, has already proven to be incredibly exciting, and things are only going to get more intense from here onwards.
Of course, the Four Emperors are central to the Final Saga. It can be said that they are, in a way, protagonists of this part of the story, with major roles to play throughout. The Four Emperors right now have been shaken up, and with that shifted the balance of the world in exciting ways. However, it is not going to be the only time when the Four Emperors will undergo a massive change. There is a big chance that the Final Saga of One Piece will see more changes being made to this order.
The Current Yonko In The Final Saga
The Yonko Are The Strongest Pirates On The Seas
Fans saw the Four Emperors being introduced in the post-Enies Lobby Arc. Specifically, this introduction came through Garp, a legendary Marine in the world of One Piece. Garp introduced the Straw Hat Pirates, and through them, the fans, to the Four Emperors, and at the time, it was revealed that this legendary order was made up of Shanks, Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom. Of course, at the time, fans only knew the names of these individuals, with Shanks and Whitebeard being the only ones to have had some screen time.
With time, fans saw more and more of these Yonko, and It is safe to say that they have now become incredibly prevalent in the story. The first Yonko to fall was Whitebeard, and with his fall, another one ended up rising and taking his position. This was one of his former underlings, Blackbeard, who conspired against him and usurped his territories. Blackbeard became an incredibly powerful Yonko, and he has been going from strength to strength ever since. Currently, his bounty is 3.996 billion berries, and it is safe to say that he is rapidly making progress even now.
Another major shift in the order of the Emperors came in the post-timeskip of One Piece, when the war in Onigashima was fought between a giant alliance of pirates, along with the samurai of Wano, and of course, the collaboration of Kaido and Big Mom. This war was absolutely massive, and it is safe to say that it was the biggest battle that the fans saw following the Paramount War in One Piece. In some ways, it might even be bigger, and the result of this war was just as shocking, if not more.
The war of Onigashima ended with the victory of the alliance, and Big Mom and Kaido were both defeated. Kid and Law combined their strength together, and awakened new powers in order to defeat Big Mom, and they did well to knock her from her throne. At the same time, Luffy took it upon himself to fight Kaido, and with all the power-ups that he got, he managed to finally pull this off as well. At the end of it all, both Big Mom and Kaido were knocked down from their Emperor position, and, consequently, new Emperors arose.
Much to the surprise of the fans, Buggy ended up becoming an Emperor, due to the incredible pedigree, and him seemingly taking both Crocodile and Mihawk under him as his underlings. At the same time, Luffy was deservedly made an Emperor of the Sea, and it was certainly an exciting change for the fans. The new Emperor order was made of Luffy, Buggy, Shanks, and Blackbeard.
The Fall Of Blackbeard
Blackbeard Will Eventually Be Defeated In One Piece
Blackbeard is an incredibly important member of the Four Emperors, and he will continue to play a major role in the Final Saga. In fact, he might very well be the final antagonist in One Piece, even though Imu exists. Blackbeard has his own goal to take over the entire world, and Oda has been carefully paralleling him with Luffy, which implies that he has a major role to play in the wars to come. Blackbeard is going to keep his position as an Emperor for most of the Final Saga, however, there will come a point when he will fall.
He is Luffy’s eventual enemy, and when these two clash, there can only be one winner. Of course, a battle between sun and darkness will likely see the sun winning out, which means that Blackbeard will fall at some point in the story. When that happens, there will be a power vacuum created, and someone else will have to step up and fill this position. There are many candidates who can step up to fill this position, however, more importantly, fans need to consider that Blackbeard is not going to stay a Yonko forever.
Shanks And Buggy’s Role In The Final Saga
Shanks And Buggy Are Going To Change Drastically
Shanks is another individual who could end up falling from the position of Yonko come the end game of One Piece. Right now, Shanks is one of the strongest members of the Four Emperors, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he is the strongest after the defeat of Kaido and Big Mom. Shanks is incredibly overpowered, and his usage of Haki is mesmerizing. Unlike Blackbeard, Shanks doesn’t have writing on the wall that says he will fall at some point. However, that is not to say the Shanks can’t. There is a very strong chance for Shanks to fall at some point in the story as well. Shanks isn’t unbeatable and Luffy himself would want to beat him at some point in the story.
At the same time, there are many others who are gunning for him as well, and Blackbeard himself is among them. If Shanks ends up falling at some point in the story, then, once again, the position will be vacant, which will then have to be filled by some other individual.
The Change In The Yonko System In The Final Saga
The Yonko System Will Undergo Massive Changes In The Final Saga
It is safe to say that in the Final Saga, the Yonko will end up looking completely different. Shanks and Blackbeard will most likely fall, and if that happens, two positions will pop up and two powerful individuals will have to come and fill in those positions. At the moment, the likeliest individual at least for one of them is going to be A Trafalgar Law. The other person could end up being anyone, from Kid, to maybe some other pirate who comes along and asserts their dominance.
However, what fans also need to consider is that Luffy himself will not be a Yonko forever. Once Luffy becomes a Pirate King, he will not be associated with the other Emperors, which means that the entire Emperor system itself could collapse.
There’s a possibility that Luffy will be the Pirate King come the end of One Piece,as he will be the sole ruler of the seas. There can’t be Emperors if there is a king. The Four Emperors are all fighting for the One Piece. They are rulers of the Grand Line and those who are in an attempt to conquer the seas. When Luffy becomes the Pirate King, the chances for the entire Emperor system to collapse become massive. That said, there will still be powerful Pirates who will play the role of an Emperor anyway. These will be the likes of Law, and potentially even Eustass Kid.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1112, is set to be April 21, 2024.
