In the previous chapter of Protecting the Witch’s Son, Rhys goes out with his Knights to inspect his land and check up on every one since there have been reports of petty crimes and fights happening. A lot of people had made their way into the territory due to the exam that was taking place.

Elaine is stuck next to Rhys as usual while Rhys splits his men up to inspect different areas. A little girl approaches Elaine and hands her the cookies she baked for Rhys, and Rhys graciously accepts it.
