Ending on a massive cliffhanger, the series will return with its timid protagonist, Baam, and its peculiar cast of characters as they resume their navigation of the mysterious Tower of God. The new season will see diverse interactions among its cast, threatening more new variations than fans expect. Therefore, it only makes sense to look closer into the series’ cast from the most prominent to the most obscure.

10 Twenty-Fifth Baam
FUG Slayer Candidate
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: Irregulars, FUG
- Shinsu Form: Pure Shinsu
The series’ protagonist, Baam, is an irregular who decides to ascend the Tower only because he wants to be reunited with his best and only friend, Rachel. Due to a lonely childhood outside of the Tower with virtually no human contact outside of Rachel, Baam is initially highly empathetic towards others, as shown in the series’ first season, making him also very naive to the reality of the Tower.
However, as the story progresses, he becomes closed off and cold after being betrayed by Rachel. Now focused on getting stronger as he prepares to face even more powerful foes, Baam still occasionally shows glimpses of his former self.
9 Rachel
Icarus
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: Po Bidau Family, FUG, Irregulars
- Shinsu Form: N/A
The object of Baam’s affection and his good friend, Rachel, is a major character in the series and is shown to be manipulative, self-righteous, and somewhat sociopathic in her tendencies. Her character traits stem from an unhealthy obsession with reaching the top of the Tower, to the point where she is willing to use anyone to pursue her desires, Baam inclusive.
However, despite her obvious flaws, Rachel also displays a high level of self-awareness regarding her actions and how they affect others around her. More than anything, she simply will not let anything stand between herself and her desires.
8 Khun Aguero Agnis
The Ruler Who Will Not Be Ruled
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: Team Baam, Khun’s Team
- Shinsu Form: Light Shinsu
One of the more cunning characters of the series, Khun Aguero is another central character and a close friend of Baam. Typically rational and cool-headed, Khun comes across as smarter than the average person, often the schemer in any group he is in.
Highly manipulative, Khun initially seems cold and ruthless, but that is just an exterior to a more sensitive side of himself due to his past experiences. Despite carefully hiding his delicate side, Khun cares very deeply for the people and things he considers precious, as shown by how he is protective of Baam and those he considers friends.
7 Wraithraiser Rak
Direct Descendant of the Native One
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: Team Baam
- Shinsu Form: Light Shinsu
A native of the wraithraiser species, Rak is a rather large alligator-like humanoid who sees himself as superior to almost everyone else, as he likes to refer to them as turtles. Not particularly smart for his arrogance, Rak thinks of himself as tough, although beneath his arrogant demeanor, he is nothing more than an emotional baby.
However, he is slightly more perceptive and is more caring than he lets on. Technically a giant in his own right as he is roughly 15 feet tall, Rak got his body shrunken by a Guardian due to his behaviour. However, the incident became a catalyst to his becoming a Compression Licensor, making him capable of changing his size at will.
6 Endorsi Zahard
A Zahard Princess
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: Zahard Empire, Team Baam, Zahard’s Princesses
- Shinsu Form: Light Shinsu
A princess of the Zahard Empire, Androssi is rather friendly most of the time, which is probably due to her time spent with Baam. Before meeting Baam, Androssi gave off an air of arrogance and superiority. She saw others as below herself and was willing to step on others to achieve her ambitious desires, even if it meant betraying teammates and allies like Rachel.
Nevertheless, through her interaction and encounter with Baam, her perspectives on the Tower and personal ideals begin to shift to be more accommodating of others, even though she is still as cunning and manipulative as she was before she met him.
5 Anak Zahard Jr
Child of Zahard
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: Zahard Princesses
- Shinsu Form: N/A
Taking on her mother’s name, Anak Zahard is the series’ loner. Quick-witted and tempered, Anak is also quite the haughty character who never fails to show why she’s superior to those around her.
Burdened with the goal of revenge, Anak finds more joy in working alone than with others, as she’s quick to reject any company. Just smart enough to be able to survive the Tower, Anak does not stand out, particularly through the first part of the series, even though she is one of Zahard’s Princesses.
4 Hwa Ryun
Red Witch
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: FUG, Team Baam
- Shinsu Form: N/A
A rather conspicuous character due to her bright red hair and eyes, Hwa Ryun, is a native of the Red Witch species, a people known for being Guides throughout the Tower. Like Baam, she has very few words and a rather ominous aura. However, she can be quite mischievous in her interactions, as seen by how she manipulates Khun Aguero at some point in Part I.
Despite her quiet demeanor, Hwa Ryun is also very blunt about her opinions, caring very little about other people’s feelings in the process, which makes her come off as harsh sometimes. While she can use Shinsu in a battle, Hwa Ryun’s fighting skills are not the best due to the nature of her actual abilities as a Guide.
3 Ha Yuri Zahard
Zahard’s Effenberg
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: Zahard Empire, Wolhaiksong
- Shinsu Form: Light Shinsu
One of the more powerful characters in the series, Yuri Zahard, is a princess of the Ha family and is currently a high ranker. One of the more famous princesses, Yuri, holds considerable admiration and influence across the Tower due to her status and abilities as she is the current wielder of both the Black March and Green April of the 13 Months Ignition Weapons.
Yuri has an unlikely affection for Baam, which begins after encountering him. However, she is generally hot-tempered and quick to make rash decisions, which deflates her overall abilities as a high ranker.
2 Ship Leesoo
The Academic Genius
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: Ship’s Team
- Shinsu Form: N/A
One of the more normal-looking characters in the series, Leesoo, is relatively weak as he has no outstanding physical abilities. However, he can hold his own in a battle or situation of wits, seeing as he is almost on par with Khun in that regard.
In the first part of the series, he appears as always scared in the most trivial of situations. However, his attitude improves as the series progresses, especially when he eventually becomes his team’s leader, which is reflected in his more serious approach in Part II of the series.
1 Headon
Administrator of the First Floor
- Anime Debut: Episode 01
- Affiliations: Administrators
- Shinsu Form: N/A
The Tower’s most experienced administrator, Headon, appears mostly like a white rabbit due to his long ears. However, his face is featureless for most of the time except for a slit across his face with which he communicates.
Ruthlessly manipulative, Headon initially appears to the Tower participants as friendly, but his cruel personality quickly shows through the first season. Even among the administrators, Headon is treated with wary eyes, as his actual goals and desires are not understood by anyone except himself.
