He is someone who looks at himself as second in command to achieve his goals and how much it bothered him.

But once he came across Donald, his worldview started to change as Donald showed him what the real world was like. Kingsley could only watch in awe as he bent the world to his liking and thus joined him.

Meanwhile, Donald wanted Kingsley to be his second in-arm to start their union and assert dominance in the world.

Something that wasn’t present in Grey’s circle is they had camaraderie but not a brotherhood or bond of brothers between two characters.

However, we do not need to fear that now that Kingsley and Donald’s past is shown. It is kind of interesting that the backstory started as Donald’s past, but now Kingsley has become the main narrator of sorts.

Though that was just for one chapter, even in one chapter, the impact was huge and showed what relation the two had. However, they are from being the person they end up in the present.
