As soon as Bakugo arrived on the battlefield, fans knew that he would take on All For One in combat and would be the one to defeat him. This clash is the focus of the manga now and it has been an incredibly exciting encounter that lit up My Hero Academia chapter 406 as well.
A Look At The Battlefield
Before My Hero Academia chapter 406 could dive into the incredible fighting action that Bakugo and All For One delivered, a proper look at the battlefield was provided to the fans. This was important, since fans have not seen how things are going on different battlefields in a while. The vast majority of the fights have now subsided as the villains have been apprehended. This means that the heroes now have to deal with the aftermath and take care of the injured, as well as arrest those who caused this ruckus.
My Hero Academia chapter 406 focused on this aspect of the story brilliantly. The first few pages of the manga were dedicated to different battlefields being taken control of and the injured being taken care of. Then, fans also saw quite a lot of villains being taken in and, at the same time, Shirakumo was given some focus as well. Fans know that he managed to use his Quirk to take Present Mic and Aizawa with him and it will be interesting to see how this plot develops later down the line. For now, this plotline doesn’t seem to be progressing further and it likely won’t do so anytime soon. Regardless, giving fans a glimpse of the battlefield was certainly a nice touch by the author and, given that it did not take too much of the chapter, fans appreciated it and also enjoyed what came after.
Bakugo Attacks All For One
The biggest focus of My Hero Academia chapter 406 was, undoubtedly, Bakugo. This is something that fans expected, since he’s now returned to battle properly. Immediately after Bakugo woke up, he rushed to save All Might and, as soon as he managed to do that, he was entrusted by the former Number One Hero with this ginormous task at hand. Bakugo is now going to fight against All For One and do his utmost best in an attempt to take him down. Following his battle, Deku will fight against Shigaraki and the Final War arc will end once and for all, which will also mark the conclusion of My Hero Academia as a whole.

In My Hero Academia chapter 406, Bakugo finally launched a powerful attack on All For One. Although the initial attack did not seem to be all that powerful, Bakugo’s Quirk power continued to go higher. Even All Might was stunned at how strong Bakugo was growing to be. He was blazing fast when he launched his first attack on All For One and Edgeshot then revealed that moments before he was almost killed, he started figuring things out about his Quirk. He seems to have tapped into Quirk Awakening, but it appears that he hasn’t fully mastered it just yet. He is figuring it out as the fight continues. Edgeshot also mentioned that he left Shigaraki completely in the dust for a brief moment when his Quirk Awakening worked. Now, My Hero Academia chapter 406 focused heavily on this aspect of battle and showcased what Bakugo is capable of.
Bakugo’s Figures Out His Quirk Secret
My Hero Academia chapter 406 focused on the Explosion Quirk quite a lot. Bakugo explained that in order for him to improve his Quirk usage, he needs to feel pain. When he feels pain, he can improve the output of the explosion that he feels in his body. Usually, the sweat that Bakugo has on the palms of his hands is what leads to his explosions. However, when this sweat starts flowing throughout his entire body, it leads to a lot of pain. Mastering this pain and knowing where it hurts most and how to produce the best explosions is the key, according to Bakugo, to give rise to secondary explosions.
The secondary explosions then allow him to deal much more damage and even propel himself much faster. By mastering this in My Hero Academia chapter 406, Bakugo was able to reach a level that matched even All For One. In fact, it was quite easy for him to catch up to him even when he was using his best speed. Bakugo also successfully launched an incredible strike at All For One, shocking him for good. According to him, even matching Deku right now and surpassing him doesn’t feel like a stretch for him at all.
Kudo And All For One
My Hero Academia chapter 406 also gave fans a glimpse of All For One’s flashback. The second user of One For All was finally revealed and it appears that this person is related to none other than Bakugo himself, and is a member of the same family. This is why Bakugo’s face gives All For One a rush of blood to his head and makes him angry. All For One realizes that if it wasn’t for him, he wouldn’t be suffering today and, since he’s losing the war now, he is blaming everything on the second user of One For All. He was the one who helped Yoichi and ensured that things went against him later down the line.
Yoichi passed on his Quirk to Bakugo’s ancestor, who was revealed to be named Kudo in this chapter. When All For One was hit by a powerful explosion launched by Bakugo, he screamed Kudo’s name, but Bakugo reminded him that he’s making his own history now and that he is Kacchan of the Bakugo family, not Kudo. Essentially, he reminded All For One that this is his story in the making and that he simply cannot make excuses and blame his loss on someone else, when Bakugo is reaching unprecedented levels of power and defeating him on his own even when his body is in tatters.
From here onwards, fans can easily tell that the fight between and All For One will not last for too long. The next few chapters should see this fight come to a conclusion and the focus is then going to be on Deku versus Shigaraki. This chapter was nothing short of phenomenal for the fans and the next one is likely going to be even better, given that it could very well focus on the grand finale of the fight between Bakugo and All For One.
My Hero Academia can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia chapter 407, is set to be November 19, 2023.
