The following contains spoilers for Oshi no Ko Episode 8, “First Time,” now streaming on HIDIVE.
After Ai Hoshino’s unfortunate death in Oshi no Ko, her daughter Ruby Hoshino has been dead set on becoming an idol. Even though her twin brother was against this initially, he eventually ends up supporting her after seeing her adamance. Aqua eggs Miyako on to produce another idol group, which will be headlined by Ruby. Miyako agrees, and the new B-Komachi is born. However, the group still lacks members. Aqua manages to recruit Kana Arima, and now, the final spot has just been filled.
While B-Komachi may only be emerging, it’s not the first time the idol group has made waves. The one Ai belonged to is none other than the original B-Komachi, which is why Ruby decided to use the same name. They’ve already begun getting that name out to the public, even though they are still lacking a member. However, with the newest addition to the line-up, they are sure to get even bigger.
Aqua Recruited Mem-Cho as the Final Member of B-Komachi
In order to get Kaburagi to spill the info he has on Ai, Aqua agreed to join a reality TV show called LoveNow. After numerous ups and downs, the show finally airs its final episode in Episode 8, and the cast and the crew get together to celebrate the show’s finale. As they are going their separate ways after the project, the cast discusses their future plans. For Aqua and Akane, that means faking their relationship for at least a few months. There is, however, one cast member who is sadder than the rest.
After the party, Mem-Cho walks with Aqua and expresses how much she will miss hanging around the other cast members. She then proceeds to tell Aqua about her old dream. It turns out that the popular influencer actually wanted to be an idol. However, what’s intended as a nostalgic trip down memory lane becomes a golden opportunity. Aqua extends an invitation to her to be part of B-Komachi. After all, Strawberry Productions is still looking for a member — and Mem-Cho certainly doesn’t seem to be against the idea.
Mem-Cho Can Help Boost B-Komachi’s Popularity
What makes Mem-Cho an enticing addition to B-Komachi is her existing substantial following. Mem-Cho has already amassed a considerable fan base, showcasing her ability to captivate and engage audiences. This existing fan base not only adds to the group’s overall popularity but also brings a built-in audience that can support and promote B-Komachi’s endeavors. Mem-Cho’s presence alone generates excitement and intrigue, drawing attention to B-Komachi’s journey and potentially expanding the group’s reach to even greater heights.
In addition, Mem-Cho’s proficiency in online marketing strategies makes her an invaluable asset to B-Komachi. Her knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of social media platforms, content creation and engagement were already demonstrated during a trying period involving Akane. Mem-Cho’s savvy approach not only helped navigate the challenges faced by the group but also showcased her ability to harness the power of digital platforms to turn a difficult situation into an opportunity for growth and positive brand image. In addition to Strawberry Productions’ already established online marketing strategies, B-Komachi could well end up dominating the online world of Oshi no Ko.
