Call of the Night anime released a preview trailer and images for episode 7 along with the title and synopsis. The episode will be broadcast on August 18. The title is “Reproduction,” and the preview images and trailer show the anime seems to be animating the manga’s 19th, 20th, and 21st chapters, which were compiled in the 3rd volume. The preview images show new characters:

The episode’s synopsis describes the protagonist Ko Yamori’s encounter with a new character:

Ko gets caught by sudden rain and is sheltering under an overpass. He sees that a salary-man who is talking to a female high school student and gets turned down. She notices Ko’s eyes and talks to him: “You saw it just now, didn’t ya?”

Well, if you ask me if you’re for me or not, you aren’t,” Ko Yamori begins this week’s preview trailer. He says that he prefers Nazuna Nanakusa and also asks: “In the first place, is Nazuna-chan not popular?” Vampire Nazuna Nanakusa expresses her long-term frustration by revealing that she hates their girly-girly talks. “Don’t you dare put your filthy hand on my prey, Kabura, or I’ll really kill you,” Nazuna Nanakusa concludes the trailer with a threat.

Kotoyama has been running the Call of the Night series in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday. The series released its twelfth volume on July 15, 2022. The manga was named after Creepy Nuts’ song of the same name, “Yofukashi no Uta” in Japanese. The band is performing both the opening and ending songs titled “Daten” and “Yofukashi no Uta” respectively. LIDENFILMS is animating the adaptation of the manga under Tomoyuki Itamura’s direction.
