My Hero Academia, written by Kohei Horikoshi, is set in a society where many people idolize and/or desire to be professional heroes. Only a small percentage of people have the opportunity to learn how to perform heroic tasks and properly train their quirks in order to assist society, as the majority of people possess quirks or special abilities.

The fact that so many people have the capacity to be professional heroes also means that there are some professional heroes who either shouldn't be one or who need to improve in some areas. It's puzzling that they became as well-known as they did or even became a hero in the first place given that they lack key attributes.

Endeavor

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_0

In order to surpass his opponent, All Might, in becoming a better hero, Enji Todoroki, alias Endeavor, who is currently the top hero in Japan, pushed his own children. His desire not only resulted in maltreatment in his family but also in a chilly disposition toward other people.

Endeavor continued to have fans, but he constantly seemed as though he didn't care about them and would even sneer at them. His character even makes Inasa Yoarashi, a would-be hero, despise him and his family. It even inspired his oldest son, Touya, to turn evil.

Mt. Lady

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_1

Pro-hero Yu Takeyama, often known as Mt. Lady, is well renowned for the amount of destruction she produces during battles and her rivalry with Kamui Woods. She is one of the first heroes the audience sees in action, so it makes sense that she would approach her task with some care and sensibility.

Unfortunately, Mt. Lady is anything but a wise hero because she exhibits laziness outside of the job's physical demands. She views hero job more as a general popularity contest, despite the fact that it is essentially a level above police work.

All Might

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_2

All Might, the previous number one hero of Japan and the universally recognized Symbol of Peace, is a hero who lacks understanding of nuance, both in his hero work and in his role as a teacher at U.A. High. Because of his position, he placed demands on heroes that were so high that even he found it challenging to meet them before he lost One For All.

Unfortunately, All Might set the bar so high that he expects everyone to be able to live up to it, including Izuku, his heir. Due to this, he is revered whereas others aren't quite as competent at their jobs despite having similar jobs and skills.

Vlad King

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_3

Vlad King, also known by his civilian name Sekijiro Kan, is expected to be both a forceful and intelligent teacher at U.A. High. However, it is difficult to determine what he is like as a hero and a teacher because he is only shown battling during the joint training camp at the beginning of the series.

Vlad King shows concern for his students, but he only appears to act heroically when they are in danger. Despite the fact that his quirk, Blood Control, can make him a deadly foe and asset, he isn't as common on the streets or in conflicts.

Sir Nighteye

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_4

Mirai Sasaki, also known as Sir Nighteye, was a previous sidekick to All Might and was even regarded as the brains behind his achievements until his death following the battle against Overhaul. Even with his ability to predict the future, he never imagined that things would evolve past what he could see.

Even though Sir Nighteye sought to modify the future he envisioned for All Might by trying to find him the ideal replacement, he couldn't even imagine that Izuku was capable of doing so. He was even startled when Izuku changed his predetermined fate because he didn't think there was much likelihood that things would change even if other acts were taken.

Laundry Hero: Wash

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_5

Ranking number eight on the hero ranking, Wash considers himself to be a child-friendly hero that primarily does support. However, while he is good at support, Wash one to head straight to danger even though his Quirk isn't best for combat situations.

While Wash can be seen as admirable for going to battle, he can also make things difficult for other heroes as they need to defend him or work around the bubbles he creates to entrap villains. Also while his bubbles can be considered as strong, it is unknown if they can withstand a sharp instrument that various villains will have with or beyond their Quirks.

Uwabami

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_6

Being more celebrity than hero, Uwabami is one of the heroes that consider hero work only a side job. While she has students intern with her, it is mentioned she chooses to let them intern because she finds the interns cute and proceeds to take them to events unrelated to hero work as they were more than likely hoping for.

Uwabami seems to be more for her fans rather than her hero work, despite being able to use her Quirk for rescue-related missions. She should be able to use her Quirk quite like how Kyoka Jiro uses her headphone jacks in an offensive fighting style but decides to stay behind.

Pixie-Bob

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_7

Pixie-Bob, civilian name Ryuko Tsuchikawa, is a hero in the team Wild, Wild Pussycats. While her Quirk is greatly suited for the team's mountain rescue specialization, her hyperactive personality and search for romantic love make situations with other heroes, and undoubtedly civilians, strained.

Pixie-Bob tends to let the excitement of her current interests get in the way of social situations, which is a large part of being a hero. Upon first introduction, she even displays her fondness for younger heroes, especially the stronger members of class 1-A.

Star & Stripe

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_8

As the former number one hero of America, Cathleen Bate, aka Star and Stripe, had the powerful Quirk called New Order. Her Quirk allowed her to impose rules on her surroundings and opponents, with the only limit being she could only have two rules at a time.

During her fight with Shigaraki, however, she could have instead made him Quirkless or made it so he could be free of All For One's mental control. Unfortunately, since she didn't try to aid Shigaraki's mental state or completely consider how to fight Shigaraki, she died before she could give much aid to Japan and Shigaraki escaped.

Death Arms

10 Most Disappointing MHA Heroes_9

Death Arms was one of the first few heroes of the franchise, shown in the first chapter of the manga. While it is unknown how long he was a hero, Death Arms is one of the heroes to retire after the Paranormal Liberation War.

It is known that Death Arms had some type of strength Quirk that had the potential to not only be another good mentor for Izuku, but also someone who could aid in the final war. Sadly, while he had support to stay, his reasoning to stop being a hero was that he couldn't take the hatred against heroes because he was still human with feelings.
