Forget doctors; what Link Click’s Lu Guang needs to keep from d-wording is To Be Hero X’s mysterious hero.

Li Haoling, the animator and director behind Link Click and To Be Hero X, uploaded a short animated clip of the protagonists from the two respective series. Lu Guang sits down and raises his arm as if he’s about to check the time. However, someone has his eyes covered with his arm. That arm belongs to X, the powerful hero who has attained the most belief from people in To Be Hero X.

Funimation’s second donghua, Link Click, premiered in April 2021. Animated by Studio Lan with Bilibili producing, the donghua combines elements of mystery, thriller and the supernatural to create a series that will take viewers on for a wild ride. Behind the seemingly innocuous shop Time Photo Studio, patrons will find two young men with special abilities. With a single high-five, Cheng Xiaoshi can transport himself into photos, sending him back to when the photo was taken. With Lu Guang’s guidance, the two navigate the past to help their clients relieve their regrets.

Season 1’s massive cliffhanger left Lu Guang’s fate in a state of uncertainty. The trailers for Season 2 have introduced possibly two new antagonists and shared sneak peeks of intense fight scenes. However, the trailers have also integrated more ominous scenes, including a surgery and a funeral with a picture of someone who eerily looks like Lu Guang, leaving fans worrying whether they’ll see the white-haired time-traveling guide once again.

About Studio Lan’s Highly-Anticipated To Be Hero X

Studio Lan’s next project, To Be Hero X, dropped an exciting trailer at the Made by Bilibili panel in October 2022, showcasing a seamless blending of 2D and 3D animation. Studio Lan will animate the 2D portion of the project, and Paper Plane will oversee the 3D portion. While little information has been released thus far, the trailer has garnered hype among viewers. Set in a hero society, To Be Hero X revolves around an elite competition where heroes compete to become Hero X. The current X is a young man who switches from a bespectacled black-haired man to his white-haired suited alter-ego.

The animation studio has yet to announce a release date for To Be Hero X. However, fans will finally get their answers to Lu Guang’s fate this summer when Season 2 of Link Click returns.
