  • While Yuta is not as strong as Gojo, he is still a formidable opponent for a weakened Sukuna in this intense battle.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 dropped recently and despite it being a very short chapter, which was surprising for many fans of the series, it actually shed a lot of light on different events that transpired during the short timeskip before the fight between Gojo and Sukuna.

Fans have been finding out bits about this timeskip over the course of the last bunch of chapters, and this one is somewhat similar. More importantly, JJK chapter 262 revealed a bit of information pertaining to what Yuta was doing during the timeskip and how he trained to get stronger.

Yuta In Gojo’s Body

Yuta Okkotsu Took Control Of Gojo’s Body

As soon as Sukuna got his domain back, the author knew that he had to take steps in order to keep him from destroying everyone on the battlefield immediately. Yuji barely survived Sukuna’s first attempt to expand his domain, and a second one would surely have been the end of him. Just as Sukuna was about to expand his domain for the second time, however, something incredibly surprising happened. Gojo Satoru returned to the battlefield. Eventually, fans found out that while it was truly Gojo’s body in its physical form, the one inside the body was Yuta. Yuta had previously copied the body hopping technique of Kenjaku, and now, after he was cut in half by Sukuna, he used it to get access to Gojo’s body. In fact, he had actually planned on doing this before even entering the battlefield, and Gojo knew about it as well, giving him a thumbs up.

Yuta can only use his Copy technique for as long as Rika is fully manifested, which is 5 minutes. What happens after those 5 minutes are up?

Essentially, fans got to see Yuta return to the battlefield stronger than ever before and with Gojo’s body. As soon as Yuta entered the battlefield, fans did not get to see him talk at all. He simply came in and expanded his domain, which, in this case, was Unlimited Void, instead of Authentic Mutual Love, given that he was making use of Gojo’s body and that is the only power accessible to him.

At the same time, Sukuna expanded his domain as well. Now, once again, fans are treated to an incredible clash of Malevolent Shrine and Unlimited Void. These two domain expansions are quite clearly the best in the entire series and while a clash of these two powers is rare, when it happens, fans are almost always on the edge of their seats. JJK chapter 262 elaborated upon this domain clash once again, but more importantly, it also gave fans other bits of information pertaining to Yuta and his usage of the Limitless technique.

How Yuta Trained With Gojo

Yuta And Gojo Trained Using Body Swap

Fans know that during the one month before Shinjuku Showdown, the sorcerers somewhat cheated. While Yuji called it perseverance and guts, Yuta simply referred to what he did during the timeskip as cheating. Essentially, Yuta used Ui Ui’s technique to swap souls two times. Fans know that the first time Yuta swabbed souls was with Yuji. It is unclear what exactly Yuta gained from swapping with Yuji. In the case of Yuji, fans know that he gained a plethora of abilities and that would certainly have helped him. Yuta, on the other hand, might not have picked up much from him, but there might’ve been something that could have helped him. Regardless, fans were always curious about his second swap, and in JJK chapter 262, it was essentially confirmed that he swapped with none other than the strongest modern sorcerer, Gojo.

Essentially, Yuta making use of Gojo’s body allowed him to gain access to the Limitless technique. This would give him the know-how of how to use Limitless, how to go about expanding his domain, utilize the power of Red, Blue, and of course, the secret technique of Hollow Purple as well. Everything that Gojo knew was most likely drilled into Yuta at this point. More importantly, Yuta himself mentions that training with Gojo by swapping bodies allowed him to strengthen his barrier techniques. Previously, Sukuna commended Yuta’s usage of barrier techniques as being at a very high level. Now, it makes sense as to why Yuta is such a good user of barrier techniques. While not as good as the likes of Sukuna or Gojo, his usage of these techniques is incredible enough for him to be on a completely different level when compared to the other sources.

Yuta clearly mentions that his barrier techniques have strengthened quite a bit and now, he too can withstand Malevolent Shrine for around 3 minutes from the outside by shrinking his domain. This is a strategy provided by Gojo to counter Malevolent Shrine. This is especially true in this case because Sukuna is weakened as well, and essentially it opens up a pathway for Yuta to win the battle.

There are surely other things that Yuta picked up from Gojo when swapping bodies with him as well. Fans know for a fact that Gojo is on a completely different level when compared to the other sorcerers in the world, and there is actually a plethora of techniques that he has up his sleeve that others most definitely do not. Barrier techniques are just one of the things he learned when they swapped, and this just goes to show that Yuta is fully prepared for this clash and has prior training with Gojo’s abilities as well. This just paints an incredibly exciting picture of how this fight is going to go, and how Yuta is going to deal with Sukuna from here onwards.

How Strong Is Yuta In Gojo’s Body?

Yuta’s Strength Is Not As High As Gojo, But He’s A Monster

Overall, JJK chapter 262 confirmed that Yuta is not as strong as Gojo in any sense, despite having access to his body. His control over many abilities is weaker than that of Gojo, but he’s still pretty powerful. He is strong enough to defeat a weakened Sukuna, or at the very least, match him. Yuta’s usage of barrier techniques, while great, is not as good as Gojo and, at the same time, his hand-to-hand fighting ability is far below Gojo as well, as was evident in this chapter. At the same time, his control over other techniques is also most likely not as good as Gojo’s, which puts Yuta below his level. Furthermore, Yuta also does not have access to his Copy technique or Rika. This is because she’s far away from the battlefield and cannot aid him in any way. This also means that Yuta cannot use his copied techniques, which essentially confirms that all he has is the Limitless cursed technique and these 5 minutes.

In 3 minutes, I need to inflict enough damage to Sukuna that he cannot maintain Malevolent Shrine.

That said, despite not being on Gojo or Sukuna’s level when he was a full power, Yuta is strong enough to make a difference here. Fans need to keep in mind that Yuta is facing a weakened Sukuna and even if he is still growing in terms of power, he should be strong enough to deal with the situation here. Yuta believes that he can pull this off, and fans simply have to sit back and see how he does it. There might be many other surprises that he has up his sleeve, because he does seem confident enough to be able to deal with Sukuna here.
